Warden Characters and Roles Wiki

Compare Warden Hunter, Spotter, Lure and Shield jobs, then verify each creature in the current live roster.

As of August 2026, this is a partial roster guide: choose by team job—Hunter for rounded objective work, Spotter for information, Lure for pursuit control, and Shield for protection—then verify live ability text.

The four role framework

Content-reviewed early footage names Hunter, Spotter, Lure and Shield. Hunters are generalists built around objective contribution and personal survival. Spotters gather information, revealing threats or objectives so the team can choose a safer route. Lures intentionally control corrupted attention and need movement discipline. Shields provide healing, protection or other recovery support. The labels describe jobs, not guaranteed power order. A public lobby with fast objective workers may gain more from information or protection than another Hunter. A coordinated team may value a Lure because safe uninterrupted interaction time is the scarce resource. Use the current character panel for exact stats and cooldowns. This wiki preserves the role model while refusing to publish an incomplete launch roster as if it were permanent.

DecisionEvidence note

Choose the job that fixes the repeated failure

Before selecting a creature, name how the last run failed. If the team could not find infections or walked into threats, information is the missing job. If objectives stayed active because corrupted creatures occupied the work area, pursuit control may matter. If rooms were solved but deaths accumulated faster than Revive Tokens could recover, protection and healing gain value. If every other job is present and objective time is the bottleneck, a rounded Hunter becomes attractive. This failure-first method is more durable than copying a popular character name because it adapts to the lobby. It also makes Blessing and plushie decisions easier: improve the role's actual weakness rather than stacking a stat whose effect does not solve the team's current problem.

ReferenceEvidence note

Mylo and Jotun Hel are evidence examples, not a full roster

Reviewed footage shows Mylo during launch gameplay and community tips describe using Mylo's stealth for exposed tasks. The same gameplay source reads a support-style ability, but numeric values from one recording are not copied because live balance can change. Early-access narration uses Jotun Hel to explain the relationship between playable identity and corrupted counterpart: the normal creature's movement theme becomes an enemy hazard in corrupted form. These examples teach how to read a character. Ask what the ability changes, which room state makes it useful, what resource limits it, and how the corrupted version reverses or punishes that identity. They do not prove that Mylo or Jotun Hel belongs in a fixed universal tier.

TroubleshootingEvidence note

Why the complete roster is not published yet

The current evidence confirms variety and roles but does not provide a complete, current, independently checked list of every playable creature, unlock condition, stat line and ability. Launch videos can omit characters, and an early-access source explicitly notes that trailer creatures were not all playable at that moment. Publishing a polished roster from fragments would turn missing evidence into false certainty. The page therefore stays partial and tells readers to use the live character screen as authority. Future expansion requires a dated capture of every roster panel plus a recheck after updates. Until then, the tier list ranks role criteria, not every named creature, and the planner asks for the job you intend to cover.

How toEvidence note

Read any live ability in the same order

Start with the role label, then read the activation condition, affected targets, range or area, duration, cooldown and any resource cost shown in the current client. Translate that text into a room decision. A reveal effect is valuable before the team commits to a route. A movement or stealth effect is valuable when crossing exposed space or controlling pursuit. A shield or heal is valuable before damage forces an evacuation, not after the team has already scattered. An objective-speed effect matters only if someone can keep corrupted attention away. Test one ability in a normal early Trial before building the entire loadout around it. Record what changed and what did not. This controlled reading prevents an outdated video number from becoming a permanent assumption.

Additional field notes for this route

Role coverage also changes with group size. In a large lobby, jobs can be explicit and redundant: more than one objective worker, a dedicated lure, information coverage and recovery. In a smaller group, one creature may need to perform a primary and secondary job. Choose the secondary job from abilities that remain useful without pulling the player away from the main responsibility. A Hunter with a reveal effect can reduce search time; a Shield with safe objective contribution can prevent dead time; a mobile Spotter may temporarily guide pursuit without becoming the permanent lure. Do not assign three jobs to one player and then blame the character when the room collapses. The planner should show uncovered jobs so the team can simplify its target or spend items to cover the gap.

What to do next

  1. Name the repeated failure from the previous run.
  2. Choose the role that directly addresses that failure.
  3. Read the live ability activation, target, duration and cooldown.
  4. Test the ability in an early Trial before committing a build.
  5. Recheck the roster after updates before trusting old rankings.
